December 17, 2010: Delphine joined her new family.

Delphine and her sister Mimi arrived at the beginning of October from Quebec. Mimi has been adopted but Delphine is still looking for a family.

Delphine is a beautiful CKC registered Landseer and is 4 years old.

She is a sweet tempered Newf, a TOTAL love bug and an all around great gal -- nicely mannered, friendly with people and other dogs, and a simply adorable cuddly Newf. Delphine knows basic commands (in French) and is an extremely gentle girl.

Having lived outdoors her entire life, Delphine has now learned all about living indoors in her foster home. She is doing very well transitioning to being an indoor pet and is very happy.

Previously used as breeding stock, Delphine's owner had changes in their life situation and made the decision to turn the girls over to us to ensure that they ended up in the best homes possible. Delphine has been working on her basic house manners and is ready to become a family member in her future adoptive home.

On intake Delphine weighed 127 lbs and is on an exercise and diet routine to drop a few pounds. She has recently finished a heat, and her spay surgery will be performed in a few weeks. She also has entropion (lower eyelid rolled in) on both eyes, which will be corrected at the time of her spay surgery.

Update: November 26th.
Delphine has been spayed, had entropion surgery and
weighs 114 lbs. She is recovering well.

Delphine's foster family report that she is a wonderful girl with an excellent temperament, wonderful behaviour and an all around great Newf. She is good with other dogs and animals, great with kids, social, loving, obedient - a real pleasure.

Vet checked upon intake. Delphine is UTD on vaccines, no fleas, treated for parasites. Her heart sounds good, with no murmurs.
