All About Chuck
Sweet, handsome 6 year old Chuck is a total love bug who enjoys hanging out with his people and getting lots of love and attention. He loves his hugs, cuddles and belly rubs.
Chuck found himself in rescue through no fault of his own, when changes in his owner's situation meant that Chuck's needs could not be met.
He is a friendly, affectionate boy, who loves nothing more than spending time with his family. He also loves car rides, walks and, did I mention, belly rubs?
He is reliably house trained, does not chew inappropriately, and has great house manners. He's well behaved for brushing, baths and nail trims. Good boy, Chuck!
A mast cell tumour was discovered on Chuck's toe shortly after arriving. It was surgically removed, and is all healed up. The removal was curative. Hooray!
Hes e has previously lived with cats and was a good boy.
Chuck does best around dog who are respectful and do not get in his face. He needs some time to warm up to new dogs, but once he knows them he is happy to romp and play. He can be somewhat jealous of other dogs receiving attention and is best suited to an experienced handler.
Chuck has been showing some separation anxiety (whining/crying when left alone), but has made great improvement in this regard. He will do best in a home in which he will not be left alone for long hours, while building up his confidence and sense of security. He's a stubborn fellow who is used to getting his own way, but he responds very well to direction from a confident handler and is quickly learning that he doesn't get to call the shots! LOL! He is a good match for a dog savvy handler, probably not the right fit for first time owners or for someone who is a pushover. ;)
Chuck is nervous when kids are running around -- he is best suited to a calm and quiet household, where there are not a lot of children coming and going.
This sweet, sensitive boy bonds deeply with his humans and wants nothing more than a stable, loving home to call his own.
Chuck is being fostered in the Toronto area; his approved adopters will be required to pick him up in person. An adoption donation of $400 will apply.

Hey, baths are kinda fun! |
Health-wise he is in good shape. He arrived with low muscle mass in his back end, but quality food and exercise have gone a long way in building up his strength. He is also benefiting from daily glucosamine supplements.

Let's go! I love walks! |
