All About Chuck

Sweet, handsome 6 year old Chuck is a total love bug who enjoys hanging out with his people and getting lots of love and attention.  He loves his hugs, cuddles and belly rubs.

Chuck found himself in rescue through no fault of his own, when changes in his owner's situation meant that Chuck's needs could not be met.

He is a friendly, affectionate boy, who loves nothing more than spending time with his family.  He also loves car rides, walks and, did I mention, belly rubs?

He is reliably house trained, does not chew inappropriately, and has great house manners.  He's well behaved for brushing, baths and nail trims.  Good boy, Chuck!

Hey, baths are kinda fun!
Health-wise he is in good shape.  He arrived with low muscle mass in his back end, but quality food and exercise have gone a long way in building up his strength.  He is also benefiting from daily glucosamine supplements.

A mast cell tumour was discovered on Chuck's toe shortly after arriving.  It was surgically removed, and is all healed up.  The removal was curative. Hooray!

Let's go!  I love walks!
Hes e has previously lived with cats and was a good boy.

Chuck does best around dog who are respectful and do not get in his face.  He needs some time to warm up to new dogs, but once he knows them he is happy to romp and play.   He can be somewhat jealous of other dogs receiving attention and is best suited to an experienced handler.

Chuck has been showing some separation anxiety (whining/crying when left alone), but has made great improvement in this regard.  He will do best in a home in which he will not be left alone for long hours, while building up his confidence and sense of security.  He's a stubborn fellow who is used to getting his own way, but he responds very well to direction from a confident handler and is quickly learning that he doesn't get to call the shots! LOL!  He is a good match for a dog savvy handler, probably not the right fit for first time owners or for someone who is a pushover. ;)

Chuck is nervous when kids are running around -- he is best suited to a calm and quiet household, where there are not a lot of children coming and going.

This sweet, sensitive boy bonds deeply with his humans and wants nothing more than a stable, loving home to call his own.

Chuck is being fostered in the Toronto area; his approved adopters will be required to pick him up in person.  An adoption donation of $400 will apply.

Meet Maverick!  This fun-loving boy is a 6 year old, neutered male.  He is approximately 80 lbs.  His surrendering owners were told he was a Newf/Border Collie mix, although he could be Newf/retriever or who knows what!  One thing for sure, he's cute!
Maverick was surrendered when changes in his family's life made it impossible to meet his needs.

Maverick always has a smile on his face!

Maverick is used to being a well-loved dog, and has nice house manners and nice training.  He is house trained, non-destructive, and a really good boy!

He is living in a foster home with a male Newf, and although they get along just fine, Maverick has been most interested in playing with his humans. He would be perfectly happy as an only dog, or with a canine pal (male or female).  He is also reported to be just fine with cats and small breed dogs.

He has lived with children in the past and was a good boy.

Wanna play??

Maverick is an energetic boy who LOVES his walks.  His foster family is working of teaching him loose leash walking skills, and is also working on his recall.  He absolutely loves to play with his people! His favourite games are fetch & tug.  Look at him go!

After a nice game of fetch, Maverick is ready to curl up for a cuddle and a belly rub.  He also really enjoys being brushed!

He is fine when left home alone, but sooo excited to see you when you return! You can't help but feel loved coming home to his big tail wags and lots of "talking" as he happily spins in circles! Arroooo!
