Sept 3: Obi has been adopted

Meet Obi, a handsome Newf who arrived in our care on August 19th.  This gentle giant is affectionate and sweet as can be.  Obi is searching for a great family to call his own.  Maybe he's the Newf you've been waiting for?

Chillin' in the yard at my foster home

Obi just arrived in foster care and is currently under assessment.  More details will be posted about him as we get to know him better.  So far, he appears to be a reserved boy who is a little shy but warms up quickly.

Obi has lived with cats and would be fine in a household with cats or small pets.  He also appears to get along well with other well socialized dogs.  Obi could join a family with another well mannered dog.  Here he is meeting his "foster sister" Cubby for the first time:

Obi came to us through no fault of his own.  With the arrival of a second 2 footed family member, Obi's family felt they were no longer meeting Obi's needs and made the decision to surrender him.
Look at me being a good boy out shopping for treats after my vet appointment!
Obi has good house manners and is fine being left loose in the house unattended. He doesn't seem too impressed with stairs though!

Ummm, you don't actually expect me to walk up these do you?

Obi was born December 12, 2009 so he is just a young fella.   He appears to be in good health and weighs 140 lbs.  He has been neutered, and his vaccines have been updated.

Obi is being fostered in the Etobicoke area.  His adoptive family will be required to pick him up in person.  An adoption donation of $500 applies.

To be considered for adopting Obi please complete an adoption application found in the "Contact Us" section of this site.   Information about our adoption policies and procedures can be read on our "FAQ page".
