It has been one year since we brought Maddie home and I thought I'd give everyone an update on her.
Maddie is our first Newf and we absolutely adore her. She has adjusted very well to life with three canine brothers and everyone gets along wonderfully. She enjoys riding in the car, walking around the college campus near our home, rolling down the hill in our backyard, and taking naps (usually in our bed, until she wants to cool off on the tile floor). Maddie is currently enrolled in obedience classes and I hope to one day make her a therapy dog. She turns heads everywhere we go and we get many compliments on not only her looks, but her demeanor as well. She likes everyone, but is definitely her Mama's girl! Although she is a non-standard color, she is an excellent ambassador for the breed - calm, gentle, loyal, loving, smart.
We can't thank Newf Friends enough, especially Tami and Kailee, for matching us with our sweet girl and taking care of her until we picked her up. Maddie brightens our lives and makes us smile everyday. Thanks to her we have fallen in love with the breed and we hope to always have a Newfie in our lives.
