All about Freja

This sweet girl arrived in our care on February 10 and is currently under assessment.  She is a sweet and friendly Newf who knows some basic commands and loves to get loads of attention.

Her original owners rehomed her themselves on Facebook late last year, but the people who acquired her were unable to resolve some housebreaking issues when she is left home alone, so they surrendered her to us.

So far it seems that Freja has some mild separation anxiety issues and becomes stressed when left alone, particularly if she is crated.  Her foster family are making great progress with this and she is improving daily!  No more accidents in the house.  With a consistent routine in place, and some training exercises we expect to have this resolved quickly.  A Nothing in Life is Free approach works wonders for this girl.

She gets along well with other dogs and was happy to have a little play session with the resident Newf at her foster home.  She is far more focused on people than dogs though, so would be happy as well to be the only dog. We are told she is also fine with cats.  Good girl Freja!

More details to come as we get to know her better.

Freja has been spayed and is UTD on vaccines.

An adoption donation will apply.
To be considered for adopting a dog through Newf Friends please submit a completed application, which can be found on the CONTACT US/FORMS page. Before completing an application or emailing us with questions, please review our FAQ page.  As outlined on our FAQ page, applicants who do not meet our adoption requirements (ie. no fenced play area, living in an apartment building, having young children, etc.) will not be considered -- please do not email us asking us to make an exception.
