Mackenzie

Mackenzie
ID # 3618

Mackenzie has been adopted!

Meet Mackenzie, a beautiful 4 year old CKC registered Newf who is looking for a very special family to call her own. Gentle and affectionate, this sweetheart wants nothing more than to be loved and cared for. She's going to make one lucky family very happy!
Mac is a great girl. Very eager to receive attention and affection, Mac sticks close to people and wants to stay with them. A real sweetie, she loves to give kisses and be hugged--a true gentle Newf temperament. She likes to be around kids, and now that she has learned some manners, could go to a dog savvy home with well mannered children who have dog experience.

She knows basic commands, has excellent off lead recall, and is an easy going gal.
She likes other dogs, and likes to romp and play with them once she gets to know them. She is playful and affectionate, and gets along with most dogs she meets, although she still needs to work on her doggie social skills when first meeting new dogs. An adoptive home where she would have the company of another well socialized dog would be very good for Mac.
She's also good with cats! Here's a video of Mac and the cat at her foster home. Sweet!

Her foster guardians have made tremendous progress with Mac's training, and in the hands of an experienced, confident owner she will continue to thrive. She can use some more work on her leash manners, but is otherwise terrific. She's calm and quiet in the house, easy to get along with, a really great girl!

We have worked with Mackenzie (affectionately known as Macaroni) to help resolve her health issues. This gorgeous girl entered our program in September and for the last 4 months we have been working hard to get her healthy and ready to join a loving adoptive home. She should be ready to be adopted in early February. You can read all about Mac's journey to good health here.
She has been spayed, vaccinated, and had corrective surgery for cherry eye. She is in good health now and is loving life! She takes Metacam (an NSAID) to keep her pain free from hip dysplasia, and with a once a day dose she is able to run, play, swim, wrestle with other dogs and enjoy an excellent quality of life. Her mobility is not significantly limited at all.
If you think Mac would be a good fit for your family, please complete an adoption application to begin the process.
