All about Elmo

Elmo arrived in our care on Feb 22/19 and has settled into his foster home quite nicely.  He is a goofy, friendly boy who loves getting loads of attention and love. Butt scratches are his fave!

He was picked up as a stray, unclaimed, so the shelter turned him over to our rescue for vetting and care.

On intake, Elmo was quite underweight and suffering from bad ear infections and worms which were making him feel really lousy.  He is now doing much better!  He still has more weight to gain but is heading in the right direction.

His bloodwork shows nothing concerning and he appears to be in overall decent health.  He has been vaccinated and is neutered.

At his foster home, he is showing nice house manners, and it appears he is bilingual following commands in both
English and French.  What a smart boy!

He is housebroken, and well behaved, except for food stealing -- he is a pro at counter cruising!  Adopter beware, no food should be left within reach or it will vanish! LOL.
He is sharing his foster home with a feisty female Newf and that is going reasonably well.  He can be a bit pushy and in her face at times, so is being taught to have better doggie manners (he needs to learn that not everyone wants to play!)
Elmo could join a home with another well-mannered canine pal who is laid back and easy going and doesn't mind other dogs being a bit pushy.  Or he could happily join a dog free home.

All about Raven

Raven arrived in our care on February 3 and is currently under assessment.  So far she is proving to be a happy, playful, friendly girl. She knows basic commands, is well mannered and calm in the house, and is a very sweet Newf.

She came to us through no fault of her own when her owners felt they were no longer able to meet her needs. A sweet and sensitive gal, she has lived her life in the country and will be happiest in a rural environment.

Raven gets along well with other dogs and is having a great time horsing around with the other dogs at her foster home.  She will be happiest joining a family where she will have another well mannered four-footed pal to play with.

Raven is spayed and her vaccines are up to date. We will run a blood panel shortly to ensure all is well. Updates to come as we get to know her.

LUCY
2019-002

I WAS ADOPTED!

Quick Adoption Overview
DOB September 25, 2012
Located in Welland, ON
Fenced yard required

All about Lucy

Lucy arrived in our care on February 3 and is currently under assessment.  She is a sweet and friendly gal who loves the company of people and getting loads of attention.

She came to us through no fault of her own when her owner's living arrangements changed.

Lucy knows some basic commands and we are told she has nice house manners, except for occasional counter surfing!  We will report back on this as we get to know her!

She has never lived with other dogs or cats so we will be assessing her doggie social skills in the coming days.

Lucy is spayed and current on vaccines.  Lucy will need to drop a few pounds to reach a healthy weight, but with exercise and a healthy diet, we expect her to drop the pounds quickly.  We will be running bloodwork and doing a vet check to ensure that she is in good health.

Updates to come in the next few days.
