Andie
September 24, 2017 - January 13, 2018
This is not the happy ending we had hoped for, but thanks to her amazing foster family, Andie knew much love in her short life.  Andie passed away from a congenital heart defect called Subaortic Stenosis while in foster care.  She was born in our care and lived her short 16-week life knowing nothing but kindness in a loving foster home where she romped and played and enjoyed great happiness and love.
Andie's mom, Carlie, has the same heart condition and passed it onto Andie and two of her littermates.  The breeder who intentionally allowed Carlie to become pregnant did not bother to have a simple vet check done on Carlie to rule out genetic heart defects, or worse, knew she had SAS and irresponsibly bred her anyway.  Had she cared at all about the future pups she would never have bred Carlie.
Please, for the sake of the breed we love and for the sake of future owners who will have their hearts broken, only buy puppies from responsible, ethical breeders who perform extensive health testing prior to breeding.
