All about Comet
This love-bug is a new arrival in our program and is making himself right at home with his foster family.  He is sweet as can be, gets along with everyone he meets, and is going to make someone a wonderful companion.

Comet walks nicely on leash, is housebroken and is a mellow boy.  He is eager to please and enjoys spending time with his family.  A sensitive soul, he is loving and affectionate and responds well to a kind, gentle approach.  He just wants to be loved!

This fella' has been through a lot in his few years.  He was returned to his breeder in 2016 due to inability to meet his needs, and then was rehomed promptly to a new family.  This new family soon discovered that he was both heartworm and lyme positive and they kindly took care of his health needs over the last year getting him all fixed up.  He came to us through no fault of his own when his new owners found his needs were more than they could manage.  They made the loving decision to have him come to our program so that his perfect forever home could be found.

Comet has now been to the vet and his blood-work shows that he is free of heart-worm (yay) and that his levels from Lyme are still a bit elevated, but that further treatment is not needed at this time.  He will need to have a repeat Quant C6 test (simple blood-test) in the Spring (April) to ensure that his levels have dropped (we will pay for this test, and in the off chance that further meds are needed, we will cover those too, if it is performed at one of our vet friendly clinics.)

He is neutered and UTD on vaccines.

He tips the scales at 163 lbs and needs to drop about 30 lbs.  He has some minor back and right hip pain, but his mobility is good.  With weight loss and muscle build-up he should show great improvement.  At the moment his stamina is not great but every day he can walk a bit further and as the pounds melt off and he gets in shape he will improve by leaps and bounds.

This adorably sweet boy is ready to find his perfect forever home.  Maybe yours?

An adoption donation of $500 applies.
