Bear

Bear
HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING!

Say hello to this handsome boy who is ready to join a loving family.
Friendly and a real attention lover, Bear will be so happy to find a family of his own to cuddle with and relax.

Polite with well mannered dogs, Bear could be placed into a home with other properly socialized dogs. He is gentle and gets along well with the other Newfs in his foster home. Mostly though, he just loves attention and affection.

Bear is a purebred Newf who came to us as an owner surrender due to very unfortunate circumstances. Neglected for about 8 months he was covered in matts when he arrived, and quite filthy.
In the loving care of his foster home, he is being groomed out and cleaned up. Large sections did have to be shaved due to severe matts, but much of his hair has been preserved.

Bear is 8 years old and has lots of spunk and life in him. He is in need of shedding some excess weight, and needs to develop muscle tone on his back end. He has not received adequate exercise and as a result his hips have suffered. He gets around well, but will require a home with very few stairs, and with no-slip floors. He takes Metacam (nsaid) once daily for pain and inflammation management, and this enables his to get around and enjoy a very good quality of life. As his weight decreases and his muscle mass increases we expect to see further improvement.

Bear is neutered, UTD with vaccines and ready to find a loving home.
Since Bear is a senior and will require daily medication for the rest of his life, a reduced adoption donation of $350 applies.

This big fella' is a real sweetheart! He is going to make one lucky family very happy!
